Google is viral, what are they doing next? Google just announced their plan to get in the broadband service business. Makes me wonder what is Google going to be like in the next 5 years? Here is a clip for their blog site. I am almost certain this is a project to prepare for the Chrome OS cloud computering that we’ve being hearing about. But the consumer will definitely benefit, while Google is raising the bar on technology and services.
We’re planning to build and test ultra high-speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the United States. We’ll deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today with 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. We plan to offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people.
