Gartner, Inc. the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company released their 2009 data on mobile phone consumption. According to their data the recession did affected the global mobile phone purchased as there was a 0.9 percent decline in 2009 compared to 2008 purchase. When it comes to mobile OS, most of the world are still on Symbian, but Symbian purchased dropped from 52.4 percent in 2008 to 46.9 percent in 2009. Android experienced the highest percentage growth from 0.5 percent in 2008 to 3.5 percent in 2009.
Nokia remains the world’s leader in device sold with over 36 percent of total sales.
