Google raised the bar with the Nexus One and made Motorola Droid seemed more like a child’s play. But some android phones came out during the Mobile World Congress that could relegate the Nexus one to a second class citizen in the android world. Here are the new hot android phones…

1. HTC Desire
This babe may actually stop your desire for Nexus One.

Inspired by the Nexus One (which HTC made), the Desire—or Bravo, if you prefer—has a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen with multitouch, with 480 x 800 pixels. It’s the best display I’ve seen on a phone for a while. Internally, a 1Ghz Snapdragon chip, 512MB of ROM and 576MB of RAM, 1400 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS all lurk. The camera is 5.0-megapixels with autofocus and flash. It’s running Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, and will be available in a couple of months time. It’s better-specced than the Legend, but with those looks, the Legend will steal the show I’m sure.

2. HTC LEGEND
I prefer to call it HTC Hero 2.0.

Not only is HTC’s Legend their best-looking Android phone to date, I’m going to throw my hat in the ring and say it’s the best-looking Android phone period. Created from a single piece of aluminum, it’s more than MacBook-esque. Running Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, it’s got a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen with 320 x 480 pixels, capacitive but of course. The camera is 5.0-megapixels with autofocus and flash; there’s a 600 MHz processor and 512MB ROM (with microSD card slot), 384MB of RAM. The battery is 1300 mAh, so a bit less than the Hero, and the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS are included.

Seriously a projector and 8 mega-pixel camera on an android phone?

i8520 phone running Android 2.1. After quizzing a team of perplexed executives of increasing rank, a VP from Samsung’s mobile division finally told us that it’ll be revealed as the “Halo” tomorrow when the show floor opens. Looking at the spec sheet then, the i8520 Halo packs a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display (bigger than the Wave’s 3.3-incher), 8 megapixel autofocus camera with flash (VGA on the front), 720p / 30fps video encoding / decoding, DivX and Xvid playback support, Bluetooth 2.1, standard 3.5mm headphone jack, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, A-GPS, 16GB of internal storage and microSD expansion, stereo speakers, DLNA support, and — get this — a DLP pico projector integrated. The spec-sheet also lists a “Specialized Projector UI” as one of the features, suggesting it’ll look a little different when you toss it up onto the big screen. This quad-band GSM / EDGE phone with tri-band UMTS 900 / 1900 / 2100 will ship in Q3 to Europe and Asia with a chance for a US version at some point later.

Lumigon T1, S1 and E1

Straight out of Denmark comes a trio of additions to the ever-growing Android lineup, the result of “two years of top secret international development work” by Lumigon Corp. The first phones are the T1 and S1, both shipping before July, the latter of the two offering a sliding T9 keypad, both featuring Android 2.1, Freescale processors, 720p output over HDMI, FM tuning and broadcasting, and the handy ability to act as a universal remote.
