Yes, android apps are hot right now. Android even have a better future than iPhone both in reach and sales. If you don’t  believe me think of the users of Samsung, Nokia, Dell, HTC, and many other brand name companies. All these companies have 2, 3, 4, or more Android phones in the shelves by now. Every one with some programming experience are joining the league. So, after blowing a few days learning you realize that is not as easy as you thought. Yes, but is not as difficult either, the problem is that you are starting wrong.

Structure of the Manifest File, Intro Documentation

Most beginners started learning Android wrong because not a single Android tutorial that I have seen mention the Manifest intro documentation, found here. Androidmanifest.xml is probably the most important file in your project, yet, not a single tutorial or books out there ever mentioned that you need to study and analysis this manifest intro documentation. Understanding this documentation should be the next step after setting up your adk and the emulator, as this will give you a baseline for developing apps and the Android program algorithm. If you are just starting to learn to program for android I suggest you study the Manifest intro thoroughly, I believe it should be called the Android bible.
