Froyo (Android 2.2) will exclusively support Flash 10.1

Andy Rubin, VP of Mobile Platforms at Google, confirmed in an interview with the New York Times that Android 2.2 (a.k.a Froyo) will come with full Flash 10.1 support. Now we were sure that first gen devices will not support Flash 10.1, but it is sure that Android 2.2 will exclusively support Flash 10.1. it is uncertaint that Android 2.1 be able to download Flash separately somehow?

Does this news give any pause to any future Droid Incredible owners? The one major advantage that the Nexus One offered over the Incredible was the potential for rapid OS updates and with Flash potentially requiring just such an update that distinction just got a lot more significant.

U.S. Cellular, a CDMA network  is the only U.S. carriers runs this Android device but we thought HTC Desire might land on more U.S. carriers.

Make sure to follow U.S. Cellular on Facebook to keep up with all the latest details.

Less Nexus One than Demand for the UK

The sales of the Nexus One have been less than stellar (T-Mobile’s Behold II moved more units), but Google maintains that the first phone offered in their web store is a profitable business.

Yet Vodafone took pre-orders for Nexus-One but today it is reported that the device sold out.

Vodafone began taking pre-orders for the Nexus One yesterday and now reports are coming in that the device sold out. One of our readers of Androidandme.com ordered the device after it was announced and received the following email.

“Thank you for placing your order, reference number [redacted]. Unfortunately we have suffered a surprisingly high demand for the Nexus One From Google, which means that it is unexpectedly out of stock. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope to have further stock available within 7-10 working days and will contact you again once your order has been dispatched.”Vodafone Customer Care

    Hi all,

I work for Vodafone UK’s Web Relations Team and thought I’d take this opportunity to clarify the situation here.

The email which some customers received yesterday was sent in error. I wanted to reassure you that customers who have pre-ordered the device will still receive it on the 30 April as we had originally indicated and you’ll receive an email to confirm this.

    Kind regards,

    Lee
