Financial app sector is definitely behind games app, but there are some innovations coming up. Square, a mobile payment solutions firm started by co-founder of Twitter, has launched for Android, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
The app in combination with a tiny dongle inserted into the 3.5mm audio jack allows merchants to swipe the magnetic strip of credit cards for payments. If you don’t have the dongle funds can still be sent and received provided both parties have a Square account. This is an app initially geared at small business owners but has the potential to reach everyday consumers.
