Google Instant: All that You Need to Know

For those who relish the idea of ‘search as you type’ in web browsers, will find Google Instant a definite hit. Launched by Google, this new search tool is built on ‘search as you type’ technology. This means that the tool will display relevant search results as you keep on typing. However, you need to sign in to your Gmail account and click on ‘Go to Google.com’ for this to work.

How does it work?

Google Instant displays possible results even without you having to hit Enter or press the Search button. The typed information is sent to Google’s servers and the dynamic search results are sent back in a split second with the assistance of Google’s prediction technology.

Thus, when you search for “Droid Free Apps and News” and you have finished typing only “Droid” in real-time, search results are refined and displayed, you can quickly scroll through the search predictions to see if the results match your requirement.

With over 20 billion searches per day on the Google’s servers, chances are that you may not have to type the complete search term, especially when it is longer, and the results may be displayed even before you type the whole search term, thus saving your time and effort.

Happy exploring!
