The Holiday Season has not even begun and good news is pouring from everywhere. Google has announced to give away 10,000 Google TV units absolutely FREE, if you become a developer for them.
The give-away commenced this morning at the Adobe MAX conference where they distributed 3,000 units. Over the next couple of weeks this trend will continue, as Google will search the Google Code forums with Eagle’s eye to look for developers who seem even remotely interested in developing for the platform.
“As we’ve always said, the coolest thing about Google TV is that we don’t even know what the coolest thing about it will be. The experience is in the hands of its users and developers, and everyone is invited. Come play.”

The Google TV unit is being given away with Logitech Revue that normally sells for $300.
Wretchedly, this offer is for U.S. only. And yes, they want proof that you are a developer who plans to make an app or optimize the site for the platform. I’m thinking about learning Java to build a solid burping app for the platform to get a free unit myself. How about you?
