Tuners with small PC in the car, commonly referred as “carputer” is not unheard of. General Motors has used the power of Android via OnStar and has a Volt app- Roewe 350. We were waiting to hear Android being used in a more hardcore manner in the automotive industry, until recently when Chip tuner Superchips released custom software built on Android and running on the Archos 43.
The results are mind-blowing, especially when Android has made its first move into a device like this. It carries the GPS, audio/video, and gaming capabilities of Android, and offers:
•Chip (ECU) tuning
•Gauges
•Inclinometer/G-Force meter
•Maintenance tracking
•Backup camera support
No word on price or release date, but this tuner will certainly steal the limelight.
