The Adobe DRM support makes Aldiko suitable for public library e-books. PDFs with the same ease can now be imported into Aldiko including EPUB files, and you do not need to store e-books onto your SD card anymore. There’s also a new e-book marketplace built into the app, with books from many different book sellers. The whole UI has been improved, and there’s now a home screen that allows you to get around the app’s many features, quickly. An advanced library management system is also present, and it lets you sort books by different criteria such as tags and collections.

You get a fully customizable reading experience — everything including font type, size, foreground background colors, margins, alignment, line spacing, brightness, and orientation can be tweaked to your heart’s content. Other features include bookmarking, a dictionary, text search, copy and paste, day and night themes, and sharing your favorite excerpts from a book.

To get a public library e-book, protected by Adobe DRM, into Aldiko, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enter your Adobe credentials into Aldiko

Step 2: Download the .acsm file for the book from your library (a key that will allow Aldiko access the book)

Step 3: Copy that file to your SD card

Step 4: Start Astro File Manager (available in the Android Market), locate your .acsm file, and tap on it

Step 5: If you’ve already entered your Adobe credentials into Aldiko, the book will be automatically downloaded and added to your shelf

Step 6: Read!

Download the Aldiko Book Reader 2.0 from the Android Market. Enjoy the video below:
