Guessing game has been playing around HTC Flyer for quite some time, some of us anticipated the screen size to be 10-inches, while others betted on 7-inch, but we knew for sure it would be running Android OS, whether Froyo or HoneyComb is still under speculation.
Here’s an insider’s view on the specs supported by HTC Flyer.
- A screen size of 7-inch supporting 1024×600 resolution (same as the Galaxy Tab)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor(same as Desire HD)
- HDMI port
- DLNA-enabled for wireless movie/music streaming
- 5MP rear camera with LED flash and facial recognition
- 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chatting, with Skype pre-installed
- A re-modeled version of Sense, which has a “desktop” feel to it
- HSPA connectivity
Froyo or Gingerbread? At the time, we received the specs, Flyer was running Gingerbread, but Honeycomb was released shortly after, hence we can’t confirm which version will be running out-of-the-box.
We were told as well, there’s apparently a 10-inch tablet in the work, to compete with the iPad, and will feature LTE . The tablet will be available in stores in second half of the year.
With this incredible sounding tablet, HTC sure has a long way to go. I can’t wait to lay my hands on it.
