The Taiwanese giant HTC has been rumored to be working on Google Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb OS based tablet since last year. According to our sources, HTC plans to start shipping its tablet dubbed – The Flyer by March. However, the tablet will run Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread, and would appear as an enlarged version of the HTC Desire. Unbelievable, HTC might just do what Samsung did with Galaxy Tab – an enlarged version of the Galaxy S.

The tablet will be able to run Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb once Google forwards it to HTC. We will wait for the upgrade eagerly.

As per the sources, HTC will collaborate with an undeclared U.S. telecom carrier and introduce the Flyer tablet in March. The company will introduce two more tablets running Android 3.0 in June this year. Flyer is expected to get some lead before RIM PlayBook and Motorola XOOM, which are expected to be launched in March-April timeframe.
