As you probably be thinking by now, the next Android version to be named “Ice cream”, as the christening of the Android OS tend to be alphabetical and includes some sort of reference to a dessert. However, according to Andy Rubin, that is not the case – instead, the name will be “Ice Cream Sandwich.”
What version and features Ice Cream Sandwich would offer is still veiled, but for all of us who are interested in knowing the reason behind the name, can go by the logic: Google’s statue for Android 2.2 includes frozen yogurt, which would be pretty hard to distinguish from ice cream. Therefore, tacking “sandwich” onto the end of the name will enable them to create a statue for this version of Android without having it look virtually identical to Froyo’s sculpture.
We can’t wait to see it!
