When we are coming to terms with the euphoric introduction of Honeycomb, we realized that Google is still not ready to pass the torch to Honeycomb just yet, there’s apparently another Gingerbread build in the cards according to the claims of Dutch site Tweakers.net.
It seems that Google has struck a deal with Sony Ericsson to build a prototype- Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc with a 2.4 build, we can expect an incremental build that seems to feature miscellaneous stuff Google might not have had time to include in 2.3 — random things like a new animation when deleting icons off the home screen, to much bigger features like visible video calling hooks.
Unfortunately, the OS may be not be tied to any video calling-enabled Google Talk client, but we believe that they will add it in by launch time.
It’s launch is still an open question, it could happen sooner than expected, if looking back at the developments of Éclair.
