The Xperia Arc is one pretty slice of Gingerbread, and we completely agree when we got a chance at CES 2011 to lay our hands on it. However, today we are more interested in what lies beneath and less concerned with its exterior. The 1GHz processor we knew before has been specified as a Qualcomm MSM8255 and will stand up against well with the Adreno 205 graphics chip. On the software front, the random sighting of Xperia Arc with Android 2.4 has been put down as a “misconfiguration” by the company, fuelling a million conspiracy theories on the web.

However, we are hopeful that Sony Ericsson will ensure that Xperia Arc will get later versions in a timely manner.
