Google has acted quickly and has put about 20 malware infected applications behind bars.
Vikram Thakur, principal security response manager at security provider Symantec, said the incident throws a light on the relatively open process Google uses to allow new apps into Android Market.
Google has been uploading several thousands of new apps every day. That speaks well of the Android Markets’ growing popularity, but with the fame it has also earned few brickbats, as can be clearly seen with any popular site these days.
