According to rumour mills doing the rounds, Intel will make an announcement during the third quarter in 2011, that they’re will support Honeycomb aka Android 3.0. The partnership between Google and Intel (Intel/Honeycomb) will give rise to the very first product, which will be launched in the same quarter. The name of the program initiative is “PRC Plus”, which had been a topic of consideration between the two superpowers. As for the OEMs, the notebook vendors will receive a $10 subsidy for every Intel/Honeycomb tablet manufactured.
There are several questions running through our minds like Google’s building another operating system- Chrome OS, supposed to handle traditional notebook form factors and tablets. Then, why this partnership? What about the Intel-Microsoft partnership, would that not be hampered?
We hope to receive answers t some of them next month at Google’s I/O event, and the remaining in September during Intel’s Developer Forum (IDF) event. Our two main concerns currently, involve cost and battery life. Will the premium x86 tablet run an entire day? How much will it cost?
