Weekend seems to be the Android Market team’s favorite day to release new features, no matter how small they may be. On Friday, the web Market introduced a neat little breakdown chart of application ratings together with a prominent average score, on each app page.

Thunderstorms are incompatible with golf, and Weather.com understands that well. With its latest app for golfers – PinPoint Lightning 2011, the weather company alerts you of lightning and thunderstorm by providing the time and distance of lightning strikes from your location – within 15, 20 or 30 miles radius. Further, it provides a lightning loop, animating each lightning strike on a map with the time of the strike, enabling the user to follow the direction in which the strikes are going.
This remarkable app for the golfers works on GPS technology and is available in the Android Market at a price tag of $5.99.

While the omnipresent Weather.com has a firm grip over online and mobile weather forecasts, there’s a new kid on the block. MyWeather recently launched a new weather Android app that provides weather forecast not limited to your city or town, but to your street address via the GPS technology.
The app claims to be six times more accurate than its competitors, and our casual testing proved MyWeather true. Forecasts differed by as much as 15 degrees on some days. It is overwhelming more accurate, predicting a high of 83 degrees one day compared to Weather Channel’s 97 degrees.
The app includes current, hourly and 10-day weather forecasts, animated radar and satellite maps, and news and alerts.
