However, the downside of the device, is the poor battery life. Is there a way to resolve the situation? Read on to find more.
For an increased longevity of battery life it is essential to ensure an effective battery maintenance strategy. Here’s how.
- Clean the battery contacts (Golden in colour) with a piece of dry cloth every 3-4 months.
- Ensure that battery is not pulled out often, as this will spoil the battery contacts and makes the battery contacts loosen up.
- Never put battery in extreme temperatures (extreme hot/cold). It will spoil the battery immediately.
- Never place anything (SIM Card) above or below the battery shelf. It spoils the battery and may even result in the dangerous battery bulging situation.
- Unless the battery charge prompts for the low battery, it’s not recommended to charge your phone. Every battery should be charged only after a particular cycle of time has elapsed for enhanced battery life.
- Never charge your phone with USB when the charge is below 20%. USB charging uses trickle charging concept that uses AC Power chargers to charge your phone. It is unhealthy for the life of battery.
- Although, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sync and brightness are important widgets, yet these drain out the battery life. You can tone them down, especially the brightness for enhanced battery life. For further enhancing the battery life use advanced power control widget from My Settings- a smart application that can be downloaded from the Android Market.
- Always ensure you have turned off the GPS because it continuously searches for the location and drains the battery.
- Turn off the Bluetooth as soon you finish sending the files, because GPS alos contributes heavily to battery drain.
- When using Wi-Fi ensure it’s on the 2G network as with simultaneous turn on of Wi-Fi and 3G will drain the battery faster.
- As soon you are through taking pictures, turn off the camera. Long periods of switched on camera will put it in the stand-by mode, again draining the battery.
- Multitasking is the chief aspect of an Android device; several apps running in the background exhaust the battery. Hence, it becomes essential to close these apps to save battery.
