App Inventor for Android
According to Steve Lohr of New York Times, Google is working on a software project called App Inventor for Android, aimed at making designing an Android app as simple as dragging and dropping icons and blocks. The program is being created for Windows, OS X, and Linux platforms.
App Inventor is in closed beta at the moment, and Google says it’ll let folks in “soon” — you can sign up here. As you’ll see if you fill out the sign-up form, Google sees the program as an educational tool of particular interest to teachers and students. The video below shows a lady using the App Inventor to build her first Android app.

It will be interesting to see what happen when this software finally get into the hands of the general public. Is this Google’s big move to increase the number of Android apps and eventually catch up with the App store? Share you thoughts by leaving comments.
