Google Gesture App Demo
Below is a video demo of the just released Google gesture app. In the video you can see how it give you quick access to you contacts and apps. There is no denying the adaptability of this app into texting and document editing on your phone. Apple had just sued HTC for patent infringement, and Google is making them aware that there are more reasons to be scared of the android OS. Presently, I don’t think there is any iPhone that can do this. Everyone of you will agree with me that is a cool feature on any smartphone.
Gesture Search Added TO Android
Initially you can only input info or text to your phone using standard input, in most cases keypad, then came voice search, Google just announced gesture search on their blog.
Gesture Search from Google Labs lets you search your Android-powered device by drawing alphabet gestures on the touch screen. It allows you to quickly find a contact, a bookmark, an application, or a music track from hundreds or thousands of items, all in one place. It is fast and fun to use.
This is definitely a great improvement in input technology. When this technology get perfected is can easily put an end to the need for keypad as most people can write faster on their screen than typing using Keypad. It is also an indication of the future of android and many great things to come. It will only work for Droid and Nexus one users for now, meaning android 2.0 and above.
