Motorola’s Atrix 4G bundled with Laptop Dock with AT&T on Sale on March 6th

No Comments Uncategorized

On the same day when existing Verizon customers began pre-ordering the CDMA’d iPhone 4, AT&T has blurted what’s next on US largest GSM network. Even though it was announced at CES 2011, yet the pricing and release information was missing.

AT&T will begin pre-sales for the Froyo-powered Motorola Atrix 4G Android on February 13th, with the standard $199.99 + two-year contract. The general availability of the smartphone is expected on March 6th or earlier, aligning with the rumoured date.

Moreover, those looking to buy will have a difficult time laying off of the Laptop Dock bundle, which nets you an Atrix 4G as well as a $499.99 dock for the grand total of $499.99 on contract.

Yes, you heard right, those who opt to buy the dock at a later time will be asked to shell out more, whereas the same bundle will be priced for less on the launch date.

Furthermore, this deal will apply only if you also sign your name to a Data Pro plan and tethering add-on. The carrier is also offering an Entertainment Access Kit for Atrix 4G customers which includes the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote control for $189.99.

So be sure you know that you’re paying hefty, before committing in haste.

Is Android Gingerbread still in the Oven?

No Comments Android, News

We thought the next version of Android, 2.3, Gingerbread was already available in the market, but the pictures have a different story to tell. Last we heard, about a week ago was that Nexus One would get the Gingerbread OTA update in “the next few days“. So far, nothing has been heard. Wondering what’s cooking?

Yesterday, Google sent a tweet reading, “Our cafes are baking something sweet”, and contained a link to a TwitPic of dozens of gingerbread Android cookies. It’s been three weeks since Google put the giant Gingerbread Man on their lawn, perhaps Google is synchronizing the launch of Gingerbread with their email-killer and planning to take some steam out of Facebook’s engine.

Google we are waiting!

Google.com Mobile Interface Receives Android App Search

No Comments Android, Google, News

I’m not sure when and exactly how Google did this, but today I found out a tab available in the mobile search interface called “Android Apps.” Any guesses what’s it’s for?

Clicking on each app would pop open the Market app and works exactly the way you would expect. The interface displays star rating to help weed out the usability, price, company name and the number of reviews. We hope they would soon introduce an easy to navigate method via an Install button that would support a single click.

I’m wondering what it would be like to search through 100,000 Google apps. Feel free to respond.
