How To: Stream Amazon Cloud Player Music On iPhone

No Comments Android, Apple, How Tos, News

Even though Amazon stranded iOS owners in the middle of nowhere with its new Cloud Player service, there’s still a way to stream your songs via the mobile version of Safari. However, this method allows you to listen one song at a time, and these songs can be only played on the Safari’s audio player.

Guess that’s good for those who really need to listen to a song in their Amazon locker and can’t get to a computer. Here’s what you do:

Step 1: Go to Amazon.com and log in with your account.

Step 2: Click the Cloud Drive link.

Step 3: Select the folder and music file you wish to listen. Tap the check box next to those songs and then tap the “Download” button at the top of your screen.

Step 4:  Safari will launch QuickTime audio player and begin streaming your song. If you want to listen to the next song on your list, go back to the Cloud Drive again.

A good method, but surely a cumbersome one, as you have to keeping going back and forth.

Instead, give SugarSync a try. It stores up to 5 GB of music for free and stream it to any Android or iOS device

LG’s G-Slate coming to US this March

No Comments Android, Android phone spec, Android phones, Tablet

The competition for tablet market will get tougher this year, thanks to Honeycomb. Every hardware company has some kind of tablet ready or almost ready for sell. According to CNET over 30 tablets were demoed at CES 2011. And you can believe that 40% of them will be in market before the year is over.

While we are still waiting for Motorola Xoom, LG will release its first tablet, dubbed the G-Slate in the United States in March, the company has announced. The G-Slate will be based on Honeycomb a.k.a. Android 3.0, a special branch of Android OS designed specifically for tablet computers.
It’ll have a 8.9-inch screen, a dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU, 32 GB of internal memory, two cameras (5 megapixels on the back and 2 megapixels on the front), LED flash and HD (1080p) video as well as stereoscopic 3D recording capability.
The device will also have Wi-Fi and (on T-Mobile) HSPA+ connectivity, HDMI, a built-in gyroscope, accelerometer and adaptive lighting.
The precise release date and the pricing for the G-Slate has not yet been revealed, but we expect to hear more details at the Mobile World Congress which is held February 14-17 in Barcelona.

Motorola Estimates Sales above 700,000 for XOOM Tablet in Q1 2011

No Comments Android, Android phone spec, Android phones, Tablet

A leading technology magazine tells us that Motorola has placed an order for about 700,000 to 800,000 units for their XOOM Tablet. If there is greater demand, the order may reach up to one million units by the end of the first quarter of 2011.

Interestingly, Google has given equal weightage to both Motorola and Samsung, while competitors like LG and HTC, are left behind. This could now explain why Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering at Google, originally demoed Android 3.0 Honeycomb on Motorola XOOM, which was then unofficial.

At this point, Motorola’s sales estimates seem rather modest, considering the Samsung Galaxy Tab sold over 1 million units in its first month and the Apple iPad expected to sell up to 7 million units in the first quarter of 2011. It is likely that once consumers get a taste of Google Honeycomb on the XOOM, sales will pick up.

Analysts have commented that Android’s share of the tablet market is set to reach 39% by 2012, closing the gap to Apple’s 44% market share. With the Motorola XOOM and numerous other Android tablets set to launch in the coming months, it is conceivable that Android’s market share will overtake Apple’s sooner than expected.

Accessorize Your iPad with Colorware Grip

No Comments Iphone

Colorware renowned for making products look cool, has recently launched a holster case for Apple’s iPad. The Grip is more than a simplistic case, as it has a handle and metal frame that can bolt around the edges of your tablet, providing a stronger hold to grab the device. But here’s the rub -it’s $300.

Even though it built like a tank and has a handle for convenient hold on your tablet at all times, yet it becomes practically impossible to work on it in a portrait mode. Furthermore, the back is still wide open and susceptible to scratches, the front isn’t recessed either.
Our take on it – It should have been much better in terms of protection for a price tag of $300. Even at $100, you have better options to protecting your iPad.

7-inch Android-powered DELL Tablet PC Made Public: Follow-on from the Dell Streak

No Comments Android, News

Michael Dell revealed at Oracle conference in San Francisco this week that his company is working on a 7-inch Android powered tablet PC.
Earlier this year the Dell Streak 5-inch screen tablet was launched, which we assume is the base of the new DELL tablet. Apart from a large screen, the CEO did not divulge any further information.
The company also plans to sell Streak via the popular US electronics retail chain- Best Buy, beginning this October. It sure is a departure from Dell’s regular marketing strategy.
Just when we thought the new tablet PC market was saturated, Dell UK surprised us, touchscreen tablet PC shipments are expected to top 15.4 million units in 2010.
Analysts at iSuppli forecast an increase to 76.7 million units by 2012, with companies like CES 2011 and BlackBerry launching interesting new tablets and devices like BlackPad’ 7-inch screen tablet in the near future.
