LG has stolen the show, and is way ahead of Motorola’s plan, it’s introducing the world’s first dual-core smartphone, and also beating Apple to the white handset punch as well. The 1080p-recording, Tegra 2-wielding Optimus 2X is now available in its home market of South Korea and, if LG stays on course, it should be filtering through into Europe before this month is out. We don’t know if the company will release its white variant across the globe, but for sure the phone will make its bodacious debut in February.

Over 500K Galaxy S sold in Korea
SK Telecom, Korea’s largest mobile service provider announced yesterday that sales of the Galaxy S in Korea surged past the 500,000 mark as of noon yesterday.
“We believe such an achievement was possible because of the product’s quality coupled with the strong networks of SK Telecom,” said Bae Jun-dong, a senior vice president at SK Telecom.
“We believe sales of the Galaxy S will hit more than a million units here by around Chuseok,” Bae added, referring to the Korean holiday, which falls on Sept. 22 this year.
